Community Bowl-A-Thon Scheduled for Feb 29!

Summary: Enjoy a day of fun and comradery during the annual Westerville Community Bowl-a-Thon, slated for Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace, 5707 Forest Hills Boulevard. Participants may register as a team of five bowlers, or as an individual bowler to be assigned to a team. The team registration fee is $150 and the cost for an individual registration is $30. Bowlers receive two games of bowling, shoe rental, and commemorative t-shirts. Participants can register to bowl from either 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., or from 2:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bowlers are encouraged to register as soon as possible at www.westervillebowlathon.com to secure their spot and assure t-shirt availability. more…

WEF Names December Teachers of the Month

Summary: The Westerville Education Foundation (WEF) named three educators Teacher of the Month for December – Kari Tucker, Robert Frost Elementary School; Patrick Acocks, Heritage Middle School; and Sherri Pastiva, Walnut Springs Middle School. Tourniquets, Technology Help Strengthen District’s Comprehensive Safety Program

Summary: Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Health Foundation, the Westerville City School District (WCSD) is now able to provide high-quality tourniquets in all EJAM Go Buckets, which contain various safety resources for emergency situations and are located in every classroom in the district. WEF provided Payton McCarthy with seed funding for her idea and we're thrilled to see it implemented across the District now! more…

WEF Funds Fall Grants for Westerville Schools

Summary: The Westerville Education Foundation (WEF) today announced the funding of 16 grants for innovative programs to enhance education in Westerville City Schools. These grants invest $19,623 in projects that will reach thousands of students throughout the district. Additional support from Alliance Data also funded $3,730 in grants targeted toward after-school programs for English Learners. These grants are being provided separately from the WEF’s traditional Grants program. more…
