GAP Initiative Background

The Westerville Education Foundation's "GAP Initiative" is derived from the Foundation's logo, which includes the words Innovate, Educate and Inspire.
  • Our Grants program aligns with the word "Inspire"
The innovative programs funded through this competitive process are meant to serve as an inspiration to other educators in the Westerville City Schools.
  • Our Adopt-a-Classroom program aligns with the word "Educate"
The funds generated through this program support classroom activities and programs that directly benefit and support the education of students.
  • Our Special Projects program aligns with the word "Innovate"
The creativity of district employees is limited only by their imagination.
Use of the GAP acronym has additional meaning because we believe this initiative will help close several types of gaps that exist in education today: Funding Gaps, Achievement Gaps and Programming Gaps.
We invite you to browse the various web pages associated with the GAP Initiative and support one or more of the classrooms our projects found within.
