This Giving Tuesday, the Westerville Education Foundation is inviting our community to come together to fuel innovative, student-centered learning across Westerville City Schools. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support our Spring 2026 grant cycle, and we need your help to make it happen! Donations are being collected now through GivingTuesday on December 2, 2025.
What Your Gift Supports
When you give to WEF, you’re not just making a donation, you’re putting resources directly into classrooms and student programs. Here are just a few of the projects your generosity is helping bring to life:
English Learners Community Activity Club – Westerville North High School:This club helps about 30 English Learner students build connections, practice language skills, and experience the broader community through monthly activities like bowling, movies, and trips to the zoo. For students who may be new to the country or recovering from trauma and instability, these experiences help foster a sense of belonging, improve mental health, and support academic success.
Wilder STEM Maker Space – Wilder Elementary: This project gives elementary students hands-on access to robotics, coding, engineering, and design. With equitable access to a maker space, students can tinker, explore, and build the problem-solving skills they’ll need for future careers in a rapidly changing world.
Interdisciplinary Stained Glass – Genoa Middle School: Students in grades 7 and 8 are
learning the art of stained glass while integrating math and science into the creative process. This hands-on, cross-curricular project shows students how the arts and STEM connect in powerful, real-world ways.
Elementary Physical Education on Wheels – All Westerville Elementary Schools: PE teachers across the district are launching a roller-skating unit to help students build coordination, balance, and confidence—all while having fun. Skates and gear rotate between schools so thousands of students can participate at no cost.
And these are just a few examples. From podcasting and recording studios, to
literacy initiatives and mental health supports, WEF grants are helping educators say “yes” to the kinds of ideas that transform a school day.
Why GivingTuesday Matters
Community support is at the heart of every WEF grant. As the number of innovative proposals grows—like the 31 we received this fall—so does our need for funding. GivingTuesday is our moment to come together as a community to support the amazing things happening in our schools!
