A big welcome to two more new members to our Foundation: Dr. Coutanya Coombs and Rebecca Chesnick. Thrilled to have new perspectives and fresh insights into our processes and future plans.
Coutanya Coombs
Dr. Coombs moved to Westerville 16 years ago when her son was entering his freshman year at Westerville South. Being new to the city, she felt her son's school was the best place to volunteer and get to know people. Fast-forward 16 years, she is now involved with the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce, Women In Business, and Co-Chair the Westerville Business Inclusion Council. She is also involved with the Westerville Sunrise Rotary where she volunteer with community nonprofit organizations and help raise funds for those organizations.

"I understand and respect the value of supporting our educators and educational institutions. When a teacher is self-motivated enough to go the extra mile to ensure his/her students are exposed to applied learning stimuli, concept learning, and broad-based learnings, support should be available to that teacher." She says, "I think it is wonderful that Westerville has such an organization to turn to for support."
Coutanya volunteered for our Grants and Teacher of the Month committees and we're excited to have her on board. WELCOME, COUTANYA!
Rebecca Chesnick
As an intervention specialist for 18 years and a realtor for 8 years, Rebecca is passionate about giving back to the community and school district in her home.
She has been a volunteer for Challenge Day twice and is in her second year of being a neighborhood bridges board member. I am a member of the Kindness Council for the Westerville neighborhood bridges community as well. She also sits on the Medallion Scholarship Committee and has graduated from Leadership Westerville in 2019. From 2015-2021, Rebecca was a member of Sunrise Rotary and helped organize the annual poinsettia sale and chair the annual golf outing.
