Westerville Sunrise Rotary Sponsors Many Voices Project

We're thrilled to have the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Foundation on board with us as a partner in the Many Voices: Diverse Classroom Book project! With their generous $5000 sponsorship to the Many Voices, we are closer to getting book collections into the hands of teachers and students in Westerville School classrooms in this school year!

"We truly believe this is an effort that aligns with our Rotary International's Areas of Focus: Peace Building and Education and Literacy," Tom Strasburg, Westerville Sunrise Rotary President, "and we are excited to be involved with the project."

With this project, we are partnering with Westerville Partners for Education and Westerville City Schools to bring collections of diverse books to individual classrooms to help teachers facilitate conversations with students on race, history, culture, and to give students access to books that feature protagonists representing their own and their classmate's lives. When students can see themselves in books, they are more engaged in reading and more connected. We recognize all diverse experiences, including (but not limited to) LGBTQIA, Native, people of color, gender diversity, people with disabilities, and ethnic, cultural, and religious minorities. By embracing diversity and getting more diverse books in the hands of students and as resources for our educators, we can foster acceptance, empathy, and ultimately equity.

But we need your help.

We need the support of our community to purchase those diverse classroom collections. Please help us launch the project this year and donate to the Many Voices project today!
